Air Intake System 1978 1256cc

The front portion of the carburettor AC Delco Air Intake system was missing from mine.
I have now managed to source the part:-
There is a red AC Delco branded what looks like a valve of some sort towards the back of the existing Air Intake. There appears to be two nipples on the underside of this valve which I guess should have vacum hoses attached.
I can not see any diagrams/information in any manual about this particular configuration.
Could someone please give me some pointers as regards how I can re-install the factory set up.
