Hi, wanting to upgrade my radiator to triple core, been informed the twin core are best, anyone have any knowledge of using a triple core, before I go ahead and get it refurbished...OHV.

It was Fred who informed me double core were better, seems bizarre how one less core can be better...

Depends on the radiator itself. Some 3 rows may be better than 2 rows and vice versa.

For example

A 2-row radiator with 1 inch tubes will have more tube-to-fin contact than a 3-row radiator with 5/8 inch tubes.
2 inch. vs. 1 7/8 inch
The radiators will be about the same thickness.
The 2-row radiator will be less restrictive to airflow.
In this example, the 2-row radiator has more cooling capacity than the 3-row.

I had mine triple cored (OHC) I've never had a problem and it has never overheated. On saying that, I remember someone asking why I had done it as they had never had a problem with their standard rad. Not much use there Bob

Had mine triple core on my 2300 GT and it did resolve the overheating problems it did make it a bit close to the fan due to the extra thickness.

Bob I didnt say double core was better than triple core I said that I was told by the company doing the recore that due to the improvement in core quality and density that the double core would be as effective as the old triple core. Based on that information I only had double recores done - and to that end I have had no complaints from those that have bought from me so far with respect to overheating. If you want to go bigger on your new project HB you can fit the OHC rad on the front panel and cool with an electric fan cos the mechanical one wont reach
